Manjit Minhas and Ravinder Minhas – siblings who took on the beer industry
Manjit Minhas is a Canadian beer baroness, entrepreneur, television personality, and venture capitalist. She is the co-founder & CEO of Minhas Breweries & Distillery along with her brother Ravinder Minhas.
The Minhas siblings have built their beer business from ground up and are hands on with all aspects of the business. In 2006, Ravinder and Manjit Minhas purchased the second-oldest brewery in the United States and renamed it Minhas Craft Brewery. At the time, this acquisition made the Minhas siblings the youngest brewery owners in the world.
Over the years the Manjit Minhas and her brewery has developed and manufactured a variety of beer brands including Boxer Lager, Lazy Mutt Ale and Huber Bock. Minhas’ products are sold in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan , Manitoba and British Columbia, as well as 43 states throughout the USA and 15 other countries in Europe, Asia and South America.
As an experienced businesswoman, Manjit Minhas has some great insight into the business world and values that lead to a successful venture. She frequently shares these tips with Business and Engineering students as a keynote speaker at various colleges, events and conferences.
Though trained as a petroleum engineer, she has become a specialist in brand development, marketing, sales management and retail negotiations. Manjit Minhas has been recognized for several business industry awards including but not limited to the “Top Growth Entrepreneur”, “Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs in Canada”, “Top Entrepreneur Woman of The Year 2011”.
Manjit is therefore a perfect fit as a Dragon on the cast of the CBC reality television series Dragons’ Den in 2015 for its tenth season. The new season was announced on May 25, 2015 and she was joined by two new dragons – Michele Romanow and Joe Mimran. Season 10 begins on October 7th, 2015.
